As a professional in the field of Emergency Management, these challenges offer you the opportunity to help communities and businesses mitigate, prepare, respond, and recover. Emergency management is a growing, complex, dynamic, and fast-paced field that builds safer and more resilient communities around the world.
The Bachelor of Emergency Management degree program provides the opportunity to develop necessary planning competencies, professional skills and required technical knowledge needed for a career in emergency management. This four-year honours degree program offers a clear pathway to many successful and exciting career opportunities in the public and private sectors including municipal, provincial, and federal jurisdictions.
Through a combination of active learning approaches, you will learn about risk assessment, preparing for and recovering from emergency crisis situations at local, national and global levels. The program will allow you to encounter a blend of extensive technical analyses and professional opportunities to engage with industry professionals outside the college.
You will apply and further refine your program-related skills and abilities through a paid, full-time co-op work term situated between third and fourth year.
Career opportunities
Graduates will have the necessary leadership skills, research capabilities, and breadth of knowledge to be able to staff Emergency Manager positions in the municipal, provincial, and federal government, as well as private industry.
