Business today is highly complex, interconnected and increasingly global with vast amounts of goods, services and capital crossing borders daily. Humber’s Bachelor of Commerce – International Business degree program will provide you with a broad perspective and understanding needed to develop a successful career in business here in Canada and anywhere around the world.

International trade is a sector that is critical to the Canadian economy since it accounts for a large share of our gross domestic product. Many of our businesses are poised for growth and seeking to develop markets in Asia, the Americas and elsewhere. In addition to trade in goods and commodities, Canada is a major player in the services trade including areas such as energy, finance, financial services and technical services. This is a fast-growing sector that has tripled in value in the last 20 years and carries an increasing demand for skills in all areas.

Our degree is cross-functional and will prepare you for a range of industries depending on your preferences and skills including:

  • foreign investment
  • business development
  • logistics
  • customs
  • freight forwarding
  • trade consulting
  • international financial management
  • international marketing.

A second language is not required but is a very valuable asset.

A day in the life of an international business professional could involve reaching all the way around the world, either in person or virtually. Your day-to-day work will be varied and exciting – everything from drafting a full-fledged business plan for expansion into a new international market, to planning and executing the logistics of getting a product across oceans.
