Overview
This program will prepare you with the knowledge, skills, and resources you need to be successful for a career in the evolving and progressive field of Community Mental Health and Wellness, as the need for mental health and wellness workers extends beyond clinical settings. This program is ideal for individuals who wish to focus on prevention, promotion, and intervention to support the mental health and wellness of individuals and communities using an equity-informed framework and multiple perspectives.
You’ll learn how to develop evidence-informed services and programs that shape individual and community wellness. In addition to learning theory, you’ll gain practical hands-on experience through real-world learning opportunities such as simulations with real-life practice scenarios and standardized patients, case studies, community field placements, and a paid Co-op work term.
This program will help you develop strong critical thinking, research, and professional communication skills that will enable you to make a difference in the wellness and mental health of communities.
