Overview
Chemistry is the study of properties of materials, syntheses of compounds, characterization and determination of structures of compounds, measurement of reaction kinetics and understanding the mechanisms of chemical processes.
As a chemistry student, you will conduct chemical analyses, design, synthesize and test new chemical products and measure pollutants in the air, water and soil. You will develop analytical, problem solving, data interpretation, time management and communication skills through extensive hands-on experience. In the study of chemistry, you will also learn to think logically, creatively and independently.
CO-OP PROGRAM
Co-operative Education (Co-op) alternates practical, career-related, paid work terms with semesters in class, giving you up to 16 months of supervised work experience by the time you graduate.
If you are interested in becoming a Co-op student, check to see when and what pre-requisites you need to have completed before becoming a part of the program. Make sure that you are qualified prior to submit an application.

How much can you earn during a work term?
Your salary could range from $2,200 to $3,200 per month, or about $14 to $20 per hour. Some employers may also offer a moving allowance.
