CO-OP PROGRAM

Co-op provides a real-world look at various industries and occupations and presents a means for students to work their way through university.

Students are required to complete four, four-month work terms in the industry, alternating with in-class semesters. They start their first work term midway through their second year. Students achieve a total of 16 months of work experience. The program expands the normal four-year program to five years, with course scheduling structured to accommodate the co-op students’ work terms. This means the school operates year-round, and students typically take spring/summer as well as the traditional fall and winter semesters.

If you are interested in becoming a Co-op student, check to see when and what pre-requisites you need to have completed before becoming a part of the program. Make sure that you are qualified prior to submit an application.

INTERNSHIP

For students interested in having a single work term, the Internship program enables students to undertake a 12-month or 16-month work term with a single employer toward the end of their academic program.
