Overview

Software Systems Engineers apply computing knowledge to solve real-life problems. They become engineering professionals and leaders in a broad scope of projects. Software Systems Engineers work as software architects, analysts, designers, consultants, and project managers.

The Software Systems Engineering (SSE) program is designed to give students the knowledge to analyze, design, and develop software operating on many types of computers and microprocessors.

Graduate with:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Software Systems Engineering
  • Students in Co-operative Education graduate with a B.A.Sc. (Co-op) in Software Systems Engineering
  • Students in the Internship Program graduate with a B.A.Sc. (Internship) in Software Systems Engineering

The EVSE program is fully accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board.

CO-OP PROGRAM

Co-op provides a real-world look at various industries and occupations and presents a means for students to work their way through university.

Students are required to complete four, four-month work terms in the industry, alternating with in-class semesters. They start their first work term midway through their second year. Students achieve a total of 16 months of work experience. The program expands the normal four-year program to five years, with course scheduling structured to accommodate the co-op students’ work terms. This means the school operates year-round, and students typically take spring/summer as well as the traditional fall and winter semesters.

If you are interested in becoming a Co-op student, check to see when and what pre-requisites you need to have completed before becoming a part of the program. Make sure that you are qualified prior to submit an application.

How many work terms will you do?

How much can you earn during a work term?
