Overview
The Business Administration – Finance program will help to open doors to more career options by preparing you for specialized financial services areas, such as retirement planning or investment advising, while you continue on the path towards the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and a pathway to the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) credential. As a result, a wider variety of financial services careers will be available to you when you graduate.
In this three-year advanced diploma program, you’ll study the functional business areas (accounting, finance, marketing, information systems, human resources, production, operations management) and take management-oriented courses that provide an integrated business perspective. Because this offering will ensure you have a strong educational base in business, it will prepare you to effectively function in your chosen career, leading to supervisory and management positions in business, government and service organizations.
As a graduate of this Business School program, you’ll acquire specialized knowledge of how finance functions in the economy’s corporate entity and financial services sector.
Co-op Option
The co-op option will allow you to gain hands-on experience while you complete two co-op work terms as an employee in the field. This experience not only allows you to put classroom learning into practice but will also provide valuable contacts for your future career.
To participate in this co-op option, you must complete an application process in the second semester. If academically qualified, you may be admitted to the co-op program.
When you graduate, your diploma will highlight the co-op credential.
