Tuition fee CA$18,829 per year

The fee is for the 2023–2024 academic year and includes tuition (CA$17,206), health insurance and ancillary charges.

Registration fee CA$400 one-time

The registration fee includes the non-refundable application fee (CA$100) and the refundable deposit fee (CA$300).

Accommodation fee CA$1,800 per month

Overview

The Automotive – Motive Power Technician program is for you if you’ve ever wondered how an engine works or what makes a transmission drive.

With an emphasis on motor vehicle technology, this dynamic and inclusive offering’s theoretical and practical Motive Power Technician courses will prepare you for work in the transportation industry. The trade-relevant skills and knowledge will help you undertake challenging positions in various employment opportunities.

In keeping with Ministry and the Ontario College of Trades standards, the program will deliver content that meets Level 1 and Level 2 in-school apprenticeship training requirements. Additionally, you’ll actively participate in comprehensive hands-on training activities in fully-equipped modern transportation lab facilities.

Graduates will receive a Motive Power Technician Diploma and will be credited with all two levels of Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship in-school training.

Co-op Option

The co-op option will allow you to gain hands-on experience while you complete one co-op work term as an employee in the field. This experience not only allows you to put classroom learning into practice but will also provide valuable contacts for your future career.

To participate in this co-op option, you must complete an application process in the first semester. If academically qualified, you may be admitted to the co-op program.

When you graduate, your diploma will highlight the co-op credential.
