Overview

The University of Regina joins a handful of Canadian universities to offer the Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) undergraduate program, an internationally-acclaimed qualification offered by major universities around the world.

In the PPE program, you will be able to draw upon the three disciplines – philosophy, politics and economics – to examine today’s challenges using this interdisciplinary lens. Not only will you learn to identify these challenges, but you will also develop the knowledge and skills that could help solve them.

Co-op Program

Co-operative Education (Co-op) alternates practical, career-related, paid work terms with semesters in class, giving you up to 16 months of supervised work experience by the time you graduate.

If you are interested in becoming a Co-op student, check to see when and what pre-requisites you need to have completed before becoming a part of the program. Make sure that you are qualified prior to submit an application.

How many work terms will you do?

Three, with an optional fourth work term. Arts Co-op students will be allowed a maximum of TWO Summer work terms.

How much can you earn during a work term?

Your salary could range from $1500 to $3000 per month, or about $10 to $18 per hour. Some employers may also offer a moving allowance.

Career opportunities

Since this qualification is internationally known, many graduates from other PPE programs have launched successful careers in public service, business, journalism, public policy and consulting. Both the current Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom and Australia are PPE graduates.

For those who wish to pursue further studies, the PPE program at the University of Regina will provide a strong foundation if you later enroll in a law or professional school or if you pursue graduate studies in one of the three disciplines.
