Overview
Imagine reporting on the crisis in the Middle East, writing speeches for cabinet ministers, appearing as an expert before the Supreme Court of Canada or fighting for human rights.
Political science deals with some of the most important questions faced by humankind, such as what is the nature of community and what do we expect of others and they of us? This discipline teaches you to think critically and systematically about human nature and society and the operation of our political institutions.
Co-op Program
Co-operative Education (Co-op) alternates practical, career-related, paid work terms with semesters in class, giving you up to 16 months of supervised work experience by the time you graduate.
If you are interested in becoming a Co-op student, check to see when and what pre-requisites you need to have completed before becoming a part of the program. Make sure that you are qualified prior to submit an application.
How many work terms will you do?
Three, with an optional fourth work term. Arts Co-op students will be allowed a maximum of TWO Summer work terms.
How much can you earn during a work term?
Your salary could range from $1500 to $3000 per month, or about $10 to $18 per hour. Some employers may also offer a moving allowance.
