Overview
Humber’s Business – Accounting diploma program provides you with a well-rounded accounting education with training in accounting procedures and theory, taxation, business law, information systems, and management. Supported by our state-of-the-art Accounting Centre, you’ll learn best practices in accounting and become skilled at using industry-standard software including Profile (personal tax), Access, Excel, Quickbooks, SAGE 50 Accounting (formerly known as Simply Accounting) and SAGE Accpac Plus.
You will learn accounting from industry-connected faculty who are committed to providing you with practical, hands-on accounting training to help you get ahead. Our program’s versatile range of courses helps you develop broad-based business skills including human resource administration, business writing, macroeconomics and finance. At any time, you can transfer to the three-year Business Administration – Accounting advanced diploma program, which has an optional co-op opportunity.
You may choose to study for four consecutive semesters if you wish to accelerate your path to graduation.
Work Placement
You will put your accounting knowledge and skills into practice during the 84-hour business placement component of this program. Students find the placement with support from the business placement advisor who provides students with direction and assistance in the development of resumés and job search techniques.

Professional Accreditations & Recognition
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation
Both the two-year Business – Accounting diploma and three-year Business Administration – Accounting advanced diploma programs offer pathways for students interested in pursuing an Ontario Chartered Professional Accountant – CPA designation. When recognized as transfer credits towards a qualifying university degree, the two-year Business-Accounting diploma and three-year Business Administration – Accounting advanced diploma support the completion of the CPA Professional Education Program academic requirements.

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
This diploma is a newly accredited program with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). The ACCA qualification is a global accountancy credential recognized in many countries and it will have particular appeal for those graduates working in global workplaces. Our graduates are eligible for exemptions against 3 of the 9 papers in the ACCA program. (In addition to the nine required papers, ACCA candidates must also complete additional academic requirements through ACCA and have proven 3 years of practical work experience within a relevant role to earn the ACCA qualification.)
