Overview

The Information Technology Solutions graduate certificate program prepares students without an IT background to enter the IT industry. The program’s first semester includes an introduction to software development, database concepts and web development. In subsequent semesters, through various elective courses, students engage in practical learning in various advanced IT topics, including database development and administration, business intelligence, big data, data analytics, machine learning, software development, web development and mobile application development.

In the final semester, students participate in an industry project supervised by one of the Humber industrial partners. It helps students apply and enhance their IT, teamwork, interpersonal and project management skills.

Moreover, through a range of capstone showcasing events and employer engagement workshops, students can showcase their portfolios and capstone project to employers and practice how to reach prospective employers in today’s competitive job market.

Work Placement

In the final semester, learners participate in a capstone industry project supervised by one of Humber’s industrial partners. Additionally, through a range of capstone showcasing events and employer engagement workshops, learners can showcase their portfolios and capstone project to employers.

Learners can access job search assistance, including a course on developing career goals, resumes, cover letters and a LinkedIn profile, preparing for interviews, and developing practical strategies to find career-related employment. Students can access job leads on Humber’s online job board.

Professional Accreditations & Recognition

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)

This program is recognized by Oracle as a Workforce Development Partner. Some courses within the program support preparation for the certification exams and application for the Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) designation.
