Overview
Business Administration – Accounting is one of five business administration programs at Conestoga College. Students in this advanced diploma program acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for careers in an intermediate-level accounting position, along with the fundamentals necessary for advancement to managerial positions. Advanced financial accounting, managerial skills, cost-accounting systems and controls, computerized accounting and income tax knowledge are emphasized. Students learn computer skills in up-to-date labs, gaining familiarity with current versions of accounting software and other business software.
Graduates of the Business Administration – Accounting program can apply directly to the third year of Conestoga College’s Bachelor of Applied Business – Accounting, Audit and Information Technology degree. Graduates of this diploma program would receive credit for the first two years of the AAIT degree program if they maintain a 70% overall average and upon completion of two small additional course modules. Diploma graduates would normally start in September and complete two co-op work terms. Graduates with work experience may also receive credit towards one work term.
